Economic Development

Empowering Women through Cultural Preservation

At Aatmiya, economic development is integral to our mission of holistic community growth, symbolized by the third circle in our logo. We prioritize initiatives that generate income and preserve cultural heritage. One such initiative involves working with women’s cooperatives in Limi to revive and sustain the traditional art of making Tsuk-too blankets from locally sourced sheep wool. The age-old tradition, passed down through generations, preserves cultural identity and empowers local women economically.

As rural-to-urban migration threatens these traditions, Aatmiya provides training and market access for Tsuk-too. This project exemplifies our commitment to economic empowerment through cultural preservation.

Furthermore, our efforts extend to creating employment opportunities locally through initiatives like our schools and community hospital. By investing in education and healthcare infrastructure, Aatmiya enhances community well-being and stimulates economic growth by fostering skilled employment within the region.
