Cataract Screening and Testing

Life without eyes is not easy, take care of them”
Our aim was to provide immediate visual rehabilitation to those who has cataract related to aging which cannot be prevented but surgery and insertion of an intraocular lens where needed.

These screenings took place at different local communities of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality. Day 1 at Aatmiya Hospital Premises, Sitlapati Khalte, Day 2 at Mahakali Ni.Ma. Bi, Gaukharka, Day 3 at Gramkali Secondary School Amare, Day 4 at Majuwa village, Day 5 at Chalise, Maaj Gaun.
Globally, cataract ( Opacification of the lens) is the single most important cause of blindness and cataract surgery is included as major activities in the national plans for the prevention of blindness.
The Aatmiya Team conducted the testing in association with Sagarmatha eye hospital lahan,teachers of Mahakali Ni. Ma. Bi, Gaukharka, volunteers from Red Cross Society and Ward Chairman of Sunkoshi VDC 6.
